Helsinki Finland and Suomenlinna

Having some time to use, I decided to go to Finland in January.  Finland is a pretty large country for Europe, almost the size of Montana, and I decided to explore different parts of the country.

I flew direct from JFK to Helsinki, had my own seat on the plane.   Picked up DNA data card at R Kiosk and took the train downtown to Cool Art Deco Train Station and walked to the Klaus K Hotel, I had a free night from Starwood, and the hotel upgraded by room, sweet.

I took the ferry to Suomenlinna or Sveaborg, until 1918 Viapori, is an inhabited sea fortress built on six islands and which now forms part of the city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland (UNESCO Site).  Very nice.

There is a brewpub in this building.

There was a wedding going on while I was here so I couldn't enter church.

800 people live here including in this building.

They were preparing for the wedding reception here.
