The Romanov family were dug up in 1991, formally identified using DNA samples, and reburied in a St Petersburg cathedral. But two of the Romanovs were never found. The bodies of the tsar's heir, Prince Alexei, and his sister Princess Maria were missing.

Finland Train Station is one of five train stations in St. Petersburg, Allergo leaves from here.


The station is known for the arrival of Vladimir Lenin by train from Germany on 3 April 1917 to start the October Revolution.During the Siege of Leningrad in 1941–43, the Finland Station was the only Leningrad rail terminus that remained in use.
